Coffeyville graduate drowns just hours after graduation

A 17-year-old, who just graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville, Kansas, drowned just hours after getting his diploma.

The Montgomery County Chronicle reports Alonzo Juan Juan died in a drowning at the Big Hill Lake swimming area in Labette County on Saturday afternoon.

His body was recovered early Saturday evening from emergency responders.

A GoFundMe account has been established by friends in order to raise funds to have Alonzo’s body returned to his parents in Guatemala.
