A man from Joplin faces several charges after an officer-involved shooting early Wednesday morning.
20-year-old Phil Burkybile the Third is accused of being intoxicated when he was traveling at 100mph down Main Street.
Officers initiated a car stop but Burkybile fled, continuing at a high rate of speed.
A probable cause statement says Burkybile even drove towards officers at one point during the incident, which prompted an officer to fire his weapon at Burkybile.
The pursuit ended when Burkybile was taken into custody near 50th and Main.
He is charged with Assualt, Fleeing, Property Damage and DWI-Prior.
