One-vehicle accident near Exeter seriously injures three people

A one-vehicle accident on Highway 76 about two miles west of Exeter in Barry County injured three people at 3:50 p.m. on Friday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a westbound car driven by 34-year-old Darren S. Greene of Exeter pulled out to pass but swerved back due to an oncoming vehicle.

The car then ran off the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

Greene and two passengers in his vehicle - 34-year-old Kristopher D. Burwell of Aurora and 28-year-old Ashley D. Achemire of Exeter - all were seriously injured.

Achemire was taken by helicopter, the other two by ambulances to Springfield hospitals.
