Carthage man killed in accident on Hwy 96 Thursday

A man from Carthage was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 40-year-old John W. James failed to yield and pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer on Highway 96, about five miles east of Carthage.

James was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Peterbilt truck, 42-year-old William F. Dunaway, of Neosho, suffered moderate injuries.
