Pickup truck accident injures two men, one seriously

A crash between two pickups, one disabled in the roadway, resulted in serious injuries to a man from Joplin early Friday morning on I-49 2 miles south of Tipton Ford in Newton County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol tells NewsTalk KZRG, the accident took place when a southbound 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by 60-year-old Wayne M. Goettel of Sarcoxie, hit a 2009 Dodge Ram operated by 31-year-old Tyler A. Johnson of Joplin.

It happened around 5:45 a.m. on Friday.

Johnson suffered serious injuries. Goettel had only minor injuries.

They were transported to separate Joplin hospitals for treatment.
