Former Mo. Democratic Party chair running for Mo. Senate

Democrats are hoping to regain the State Senate district that includes Columbia and the Mizzou campus. 

Former Democratic State Representative Stephen Webber launched his 2024 campaign for the redrawn State Senate District 19 on Thursday.  

The seat is currently held by Republican Caleb Rowden who is term-limited. 

Webber says education is one of his top issues:

Former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander was among the high-profile supporters at the event.
