In Jay, Oklahoma, 52-year-old John Hackathorn has pleaded guilty to first degree murder.

He was charged with murder in connection with the death of his wife, 60-year-old Mary Hackathorn in late 2020.

She was found dead in her home with multiple gunshot wounds.

Hackathorn said he attempted to kill himself after he killed his wife but was unable to go through with it.
