Cycle rider seriously injured in Friday accident

An accident involving a motorcycle on Lincoln Road, about 3 miles northeast of Avilla in Jasper County has resulted in injuries to the driver of the cycle.
It happened around 2:30 Friday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when an eastbound 2006 Honda motorcycle operated by 29-year-old Nathaniel C. Norris of Jasper traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
The Patrol says Norris was not wearing a helmet.
He received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin
