Oklahoma AG turns Epic schools investigation back to DA

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Attorney General John O'Connor has returned the investigation into Epic Charter Schools to Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater.

O'Connor said Friday that Prater had originated the investigation that began in 2013 and had asked that it be sent back to him.

Prater told media that because the investigation began with him, it should end with him deciding whether to file charges.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has submitted its investigation into allegations of embezzlement of millions of dollars by Epic founders David Chaney and Ben Harris, who have denied allegations of wrongdoing.

No charges have been filed.
