Rural traffic accident results in injuries to woman from Jasper

A collision yesterday evening on County Road 210, about a mile north of Purcell, resulted in injuries to a woman from Jasper.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Stacy L. Meeks of Jasper failed to yield and was struck in the driver’s side by a car driven by 57-year-old Scott R. Whitehill, also of Jasper.

Meeks, who the patrol says was not wearing a safety device, suffered serious injuries.

She was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Whitehill was not injured.
