Springfield accepts ARPA federal funds

The city council in southwest Missouri's Springfield has voted to accept 40-million dollars in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). 

That money has to be used for helping with covid 19 response or economic recovery.   City officials will announce plans for the funds later.   

Members also voted to accept the three million dollar grant from the Department of Workforce Development.   That will provide job training for people that have been in jail or prison.
