Carl Junction voters to decide fate of $7 million school bond

$7 million dollars: That’s how much voters in Carl Junction will be asked to come up with at the polls this Tuesday.

The money would go for upgrades and improvements in the Carl Junction school system.

It would include HVAC units, some window replacements, ceilings, parking lots and more.

The project would also include LED lighting for the entire school system which proponents say would actually save money over the years.

Just over $3 million would go to pay off the district’s current lease-purchase debt.

The district’s debt service levy would stay at 98 cents per $100 of assessed valuation which would be extended through 2034.
