Joplin man found guilty of child sex crimes

A man from Joplin was found guilty of child sex crimes on Thursday.

50-year-old Joplin resident Robert Shields faces a conviction of four 2017 charges, which include child molestation, statutory sodomy, and two counts of statutory rape.

The trial, which lasted for two days, took place in Jasper County court, ended Thursday afternoon.

The judge has set a sentencing hearing for March 15th.
