Plea agreement in ATV theft and striking an officer in Lawrence County

25 year old Erik Johnson of rural Aurora was sentenced on November 3rd to concurrent terms of seven years for stealing an ATV and 5 years for striking an officer with a pickup truck during a traffic stop.   Lawrence County Circuit Judge Jack Goodman accepted a plea agreement.   The plea was for an incident that happened on April 8th when Johnson was pulled over by officers in a traffic stop.   Johnson refused to get out of the truck, drove off striking an officer.   Johnson was arrested after a chase.
