Autopsy: Premature baby found in Carthage backyard Saturday

Carthage Police say an autopsy has revealed that the body of an infant discovered in the backyard of a home on Saturday was that of a baby that was born prematurely. Police say the baby boy was prematurely delivered at 20 weeks in utero. The body was discovered to be in a state of decay after it was found partially buried in the yard of a house at 1102 Walnut. Police told NewsTalk KZRG the body appeared to have been buried but had become exposed again, which led a concerned citizen to contact authorities. The investigation continues and no arrests or charges have been made at this time
