Summer school canceled at one Carthage school

Summer school has been canceled at one Carthage School.

Officials at Columbian Elementary say courses have been canceled after enrollment decreased sharply since summer school began.

Even so, the school's summer feeding program will continue.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Baker says two Carthage students tested positive for the coronavirus but they were students at Carthage Junior High School.

He says exposure in those cases is believed to have come through community rather than school contact.
