Former substitute teacher in Monett sentenced for sex crime with student

A former substitute teacher in Monett has been sentenced to five years of supervised probation for having sexual contact with a student. 25-year-old Loryn Barclay plead guilty to a reduced charge of Class D Harassment. She was sentenced to three years in prison but that was suspended in lieu of the probation time.

Court documents says the relations took place between November 2016 and January 2017. It's still illegal to have sexual contact with a student even though 17 is older than Missouri's age of consent.
