A woman from Joplin was arrested after she allegedly entered a stranger's home, refused to leave, and even helped herself to the homeowner's food.

39-year-old Jennifer Lea Hagen is charged with first-degree burglary following an incident Friday in rural Barry County.

Investigators say Hagen entered the residence without permission shortly after noon.

The homeowner, who did not know Hagen, told her to leave.

Instead, she allegedly refused and began eating the woman's food.

Fearing for her safety, the homeowner called for help and waited outside until deputies arrived.

Deputies found Hagen still inside the house and took her into custody.

Authorities described Hagen as transient, with no permanent address, and cited a history of violent behavior.
