An 18-year-old Joplin woman was arrested on suspicion of DWI after an early-morning rollover crash near Carterville that sent three people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday on County Road 200.

Investigators say a car driven by 18-year-old Emma N. Pennington, went off the right side of the road, hit a bridge railing and overturned down an embankment.

The vehicle was totaled. Pennington suffered moderate injuries.

A 19-year-old Carterville man riding in the vehicle also suffered moderate injuries, while a 17-year-old Carterville girl suffered minor injuries.

Pennington was arrested at 1:14 a.m. on allegations of driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway.
