ANDERSON, Mo. — Search crews have combed roughly 15 acres around the rural McDonald County home of a couple who have now been missing for more than two weeks, but investigators say they still have few clues about what happened.

73-year-old Leo Lindeman and 74-year-old Katherine Lindeman remain listed as missing along with their small white dog.

The couple was reported missing Sept. 24 after relatives and neighbors went more than a week without hearing from them.

Investigators have obtained a search warrant for the couple's home, dusted for fingerprints and searched the residence, surrounding property and nearby land.

Electronics and trace evidence were also collected for possible use in the investigation.

Relatives brought a private drone operator to the property Monday before a search-and-rescue team and dog spent several more hours searching.

On Tuesday, another search included two drones, three search dogs, law enforcement officers, relatives and additional searchers.

About 15 acres were extensively searched, but the family said nothing was found that explained where the couple went.

McDonald County Sheriff Robert Evenson has called the disappearance a mystery and said investigators are frustrated by the lack of solid leads.

The Lindemans were described as private people, which investigators say helps explain why several days passed before their absence raised alarm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the McDonald County Dispatch Center at 417-223-4318.
