Parrot escapes from owner: Lamar firefighters come to the rescue

Everything is better in Lamar, now that a parrot named "Pablo" is back home.

Reports say the bird somehow escaped from Ann, his owner, on Sunday.

Later, someone caught a glimpse of Pablo near the top of a tree in Lamar. 

That's when Lamar firefighters Scott Potter and Dayne Shoff stepped in.

They climbed over 70 feet on a ladder to get to Pablo.

Shoff then descended the ladder  with the parrot in one arm.

"The Lamar Fire Department could not have been more gracious and amazing and brave going up in that tree to get our sweet Pab," the owner said in a social media posting. "I'm still in shock that this happened."

Pablo was not injured.
