Missouri farmers are getting temporary relief from some fuel and trucking restrictions during harvest

Missouri farmers and agricultural haulers will temporarily be allowed to use tax-exempt dyed diesel on state highways.
Executive Order 26-19 declares a state of emergency and suspends Missouri restrictions that normally prohibit dyed diesel, from being used in vehicles traveling on public highways.
This applies to commercial vehicles licensed for farm use and operating for agricultural purposes.
Kehoe said the temporary change is intended to reduce transportation costs during harvest as farmers face higher expenses for diesel, fertilizer and other agricultural inputs.
The order also temporarily adjusts commercial vehicle weight limits, allowing agricultural haulers to carry larger loads.
"Missouri farmers are working hard to bring in this year's harvest while facing higher costs at nearly every turn," Kehoe said.
Kehoe's order directs state agencies and law enforcement not to assess state taxes or penalties against farmers and haulers operating within the dyed-diesel exemption.
