Galaxsea Cruises and Tours rebrands as Travel with Galaxsea to capture surging global demand

NEOSHO, Mo. — After three decades of booking ocean getaways, a fixture in the Four States travel market is changing its name to reflect what clients are actually buying: the entire map.

Galaxsea Cruises and Tours has officially rebranded as Travel with Galaxsea. The company rolled out a redesigned website, updated digital channels, and an expanded push toward custom land and river itineraries worldwide.

Owner Ken Mayer—known locally as "Kaptain Ken"—told NewsTalk KZRG that leaving "travel" out of the agency's moniker cost them business from folks who assumed they only sold ship cabins.

"Under our previous name, we did not have the word 'travel' in there, and really we do all travel," Mayer said. "A lot of our social media was already signed up with the 'Travel with Galaxsea' moniker, so it just became a simple decision to do that."

The shift matches a rush of area residents booking ambitious bucket-list trips. Mayer said river cruising down European waterways is exploding, while new mega-ships and boutique luxury vessels keep traditional cruising crowded.

Abroad, Four States travelers are setting their sights far past standard Caribbean ports.

"From an international standpoint, we're really seeing Japan and Iceland, and then of course a lot of places in Europe," Mayer noted. "Italy and Ireland still dominate the destinations people want to go to."

Domestic bookings also remain strong, even with fuel costs keeping airfares high.

Despite the digital makeover and the new name, Mayer stressed that the Neosho desk isn't changing hands. The phone numbers, the office, and the local agents remain exactly the same.

"Planning your own trip versus using an advisor, usually the money's the same," Mayer said. "To have us with you really creates a lot of comfort, provides a lot of validation, and it helps people really travel better."
