New coffee shop opportunity brewing at Joplin Public Library
What do you think?
The Joplin Public Library is looking for an experienced operator to run a proposed coffee shop inside the library.
They are holding an optional meeting from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today for interested parties to tour the proposed space and ask questions before submitting a proposal.
The 225-square-foot shop would be built into the library’s existing vending area.
The library would provide plumbing, electrical service, cabinetry, sinks, a service counter, utilities and Wi-Fi.
The building says that it recorded more than 215,000 visits in 2025, averaging nearly 600 visits per day.
Proposals are due Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m. The library expects to select an operator in November.
If no proposal meets its requirements, the library says it may decide not to move forward with the project.
