Trump blasts Supreme Court after Missouri congressional map blocked for third time

President Donald Trump criticized the U.S. Supreme Court after the justices again prevented Missouri from using its 2025 congressional map in the Nov. 3 election.
“The Supreme Court of the United States will just not let Missouri have an Election Victory,” Trump wrote, saying the court has now intervened three times in the dispute.
Trump thanked Gov. Mike Kehoe and supporters of the new map, saying they were fighting for “Fairness and Election Security.”
The court on Friday stayed lower-court rulings that would have required Missouri to use the 2025 map.
Its order leaves the state using the congressional boundaries adopted in 2022 for this year’s general election.
The newer map was passed by Missouri lawmakers last year with Trump’s backing and substantially reshaped Democratic U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s Kansas City-based district.
That plan could have given Republicans control of seven of Missouri’s eight U.S. House seats.
But the Missouri Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that the new boundaries cannot take effect unless voters approve them through a referendum.
The U.S. Supreme Court said Friday that, under state law, the old map must be used in the 2026 midterm election.
Voters will decide the future of the 2025 map through Proposition A on Nov. 3.
A “yes” vote approves the new boundaries, while a “no” vote leaves the old map in place.
