Pitt traffic stop nets half-pound of suspected meth, defaced handgun

A routine traffic stop in Pittsburg ended with police seizing about half a pound of suspected meth and a handgun with its serial number defaced.
A police K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted officers to the suspected presence of illegal drugs.
Police said a search of the truck turned up approximately one-half pound of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and a handgun.
Investigators said the gun’s serial number had been defaced to the point it was illegible.
The driver, 35-year-old John Douglas Robertson Jr., of Jay, Oklahoma, was arrested on felony allegations including distribution and possession of suspected methamphetamine, defacing identification marks on a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also faces misdemeanor drug charges.
The passenger, 38-year-old Michelle Dawn Johnson, of Arma, Kansas, was arrested on an unrelated Barton County warrant.
Both were taken to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and were being held without bond. The investigation remains ongoing.
