Second annual Joplin State of the Community event slated for January 27, 2027

Tickets are now on sale for Joplin’s second annual State of the Community event, scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2027, at the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex.
The breakfast event is designed to provide residents and community stakeholders with updates on the City of Joplin’s goals, projects and initiatives for 2027. Local government partners also will share updates on their work in the community.
The event will include a look back at community accomplishments from 2026, with speakers including City Manager Nick Edwards and Joplin Mayor Rob O’Brian.
Doors open at 7:30 a.m., with a buffet breakfast beginning at 7:45 a.m. Formal remarks are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., and the program will conclude by 10:30 a.m.
Tickets are $25 and are available through Eventbrite. The price will increase to $30 after Jan. 13. Attendance is limited to 250 guests.
The Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex is located at 212 W. Seventh St.
