The 2026 annual gathering of the Jefferson Highway Association during the Crossroads of America Centennial Celebration is Saturday, September 19th through Tuesday, September 22nd. The annual City of Joplin surplus auction is scheduled for Saturday starting at 9 AM. It takes place in the street maintenance barn at the Public Works Center at 1301 west 2nd Street. Among items up for auction are computers, office equipment, vehicles and heavy machinery. The ROOT 66 Carthage Farmers Market is open on Saturday!
The Carthage Farmers Market offers a wide variety of fresh in-season produce, greenhouse plants, honey, jams, jelly, and baked goods.
They are hosting it at their covered pavilion, at 122 Grant Street in Carthage. It is sort of near the Carthage Civil War museum and Pete's convenience store.
