Two employees of Pittsburg's Family Resource Center were arrested after a child was reportedly left unattended inside a locked vehicle.

Pittsburg PD says they learned of the incident around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers did not say how long the child was inside the vehicle.

A nurse at the facility examined the kid before their parents took them for further medical evaluation. The child was later released to return home.

Following an investigation, officers arrested 19-year-old Maria J. Ocha-De’Leon, of Pittsburg, and 19-year-old Payton Taylor Atwood, of Cherokee, on Thursday.

Both are accused of aggravated endangering a child.

Atwood and Ocha-De’Leon were taken to the Crawford County Jail.
