CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. — Wednesday marked 33 years since Ginger May Hudson disappeared from Crawford County, and law enforcement is making a renewed push to bring long-awaited answers to her family and the local community.
Ginger was 33 years old when she went missing from the Pittsburg, Kansas area on August 19, 1993. A neighbor was the last person to see her alive at approximately 3:30 p.m., outside her mobile home on 180th Street, about one-eighth of a mile north of 560th Avenue.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. that same evening, Ginger’s boyfriend arrived home and discovered she was gone. All of her personal belongings had been left behind. Foul play is strongly suspected in her disappearance, as Ginger was the mother of four young children and it was entirely out of character for her to abruptly leave.
At the time she vanished, Ginger was approximately 5'4" tall and weighed 150 pounds, with auburn hair and hazel eyes. She had a distinct surgical scar on the inside of her bottom lip and was last known to be wearing a white sleeveless shirt and dark-colored shorts.
For 33 years, her family and the Four States community have lived without resolution. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation continue to urge anyone with information regarding Ginger’s disappearance to come forward.
Ginger would now be 66 years old.
