In search of Trey Friend

Nearly eight months after 26-year-old Trey Friend disappeared, the Neosho Police Department is making a renewed and urgent plea for information.

Investigators say they are confident that somebody knows what happened to Trey or has information that could help move this investigation forward.

Trey, who is from Neosho, Missouri, has been missing since December 27, 2025. Authorities now say Trey was last seen after he was dropped off on Old Trail Road near Lanagan in McDonald County. He was reportedly supposed to meet with acquaintances but has not been seen since.

Police say Trey was known to frequent areas throughout Newton and McDonald Counties in Missouri, as well as northeast Oklahoma. During the nearly eight months since his disappearance, investigators have searched numerous properties using K9s and drones, but Trey has not been located.

During a press conference on August 19, 2026, Trey's family asked detectives to convey just how devastating the uncertainty has been. His grandmother described it as the worst nightmare a family can go through. Trey also has a 5-year-old son who continues to ask where his dad is.

Investigators are asking anyone who may know something to come forward. Even information that may seem insignificant could be important to the investigation.

Trey is 26 years old, approximately 5'7" and 200 lbs., with brown hair and green eyes. He has a cow skull tattoo on his back and a skull with a crown tattoo on his left arm.
