Webb City couple charged with child neglect after police describe filthy home

Two Webb City parents are jailed after police say four children were found living in a home that smelled of urine and feces, with some of the children allegedly lacking clean clothes, shoes and adequate bedding.
Tierney Dennis and Kristian George are each charged with four counts of abuse or neglect of a child.
Both are being held in the Jasper County Jail on $20,000 cash-only bonds.
Dennis also faces charges of resisting arrest and obstructing government operations.
According to probable cause statements, Webb City police responded to the home Wednesday after one of the children was reportedly found in a roadway.
Inside, an officer reported finding trash, animal feces, dirty bedding and suspected bodily fluids on floors and walls.
Police said two children smelled of urine and feces, and one told an officer it had been about three days since their last shower.
Police also said two of the children ultimately left the home without shoes because officers could not locate adequate clothing and other necessities for them.
An officer also described a child’s crib as dirty, with a heavily stained mattress and no blankets.
Dennis allegedly resisted officers as she was taken into custody.
Police further allege she later attempted to interfere with the investigation while making a phone call from the Webb City holding cell.
The four children were removed from the home.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
