A Golden City man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested Tuesday night after authorities said he led deputies on a roughly 40-mile motorcycle pursuit through two counties.
A Dade County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop 33-year-old Cody G. Roller on Wednesday. Sheriff Ryan Robison said Roller was wanted on a felony warrant for failing to appear in a second-degree burglary case.
Roller allegedly refused to stop and led deputies through Dade County before entering Greene County. Authorities said he repeatedly crossed into oncoming traffic, ran a stop sign and committed several other traffic violations during the pursuit.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assumed control of the pursuit after it entered the county. Roller later abandoned the motorcycle near Republic and ran into a wooded area.
Authorities used a police dog during an extensive search and took Roller into custody without further incident.
Roller was being held in the Greene County Jail on charges of fleeing from law enforcement while creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death and assaulting a law enforcement animal.
He was also being held on the Dade County warrant.
Robison said Roller is a person of interest in several other felony investigations across multiple jurisdictions. Those investigations remain ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details
