Celebrate Valentine's Day with the Grace Lanes Valentine's Day Scotch Doubles Tournament tomorrow, Saturday, February 14! Bring your partner for a fun couples' bowling event—check-in noon–12:30 PM, warm-up at 1:00 PM, start at 1:15 PM. Bowl 4 games in Scotch Doubles style (handicaps: 90% of 200 average from the 4 games, lowest game dropped, no negatives). This iconic USATF-certified 25K point-to-point road race—organized by Joplin RoadRunners—runs between Carthage High School and Sarcoxie High School (direction decided the night before based on wind to let runners go with the wind, not against it). Run solo or as a team of 3 in a relay. High schools provide transportation and support. It's a unique, historic Missouri running tradition—perfect for competitive runners or fun teams!

Learn why these giant, flightless Australian birds (part of the ratite family) resemble feather dusters on legs, their role in Aboriginal mythology, and their importance as a food and resource source for indigenous Australians over thousands of years.
