As a Missouri Lottery player started scratching the “777 Jackpot” Scratchers ticket she purchased at Caseys, 8084 E. 7th St. in Duenweg, she was thrilled to discover the second spot held a $100,000 prize.
But that wasn’t the end of her winning story.
“I told my husband, ‘We just won $100,000! Then the next spot was another $100,000!” she exclaimed.
“I said, ‘We won a $100,000!’ He laughed and said, ‘I know. You told me.’ I said ‘No, another $100,000!’”
The more spots she uncovered, the more her prize grew.
“There was another and another! We won $777,777! It’s still hard to believe it’s real!” she giggled.
During FY25, players in Jasper County won more than $13.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes.
Retailer locations received more than $1.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $14.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
