Motorcycle crash leaves Carthage teen in serious condition

A crash on Route D, four miles north of Oronogo has left a teen motorcycle rider from Carthage in serious condition.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when the 16-year-old male lost control of his northbound 2014 motorcycle at high speed and overturned.

He was taken by ambulance to a Joplin hospital with serious injuries.

The Highway Patrol does not release the names of people involved in traffic accidents.
