Teen charged with first-degree murder after Pittsburg park shooting

A 17-year-old has been officially charged with First Degree Murder, four counts of Aggravated Endangering a Child, and Criminal Use of a Weapon in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Adam Basauri II, of Girard.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Schlanger Park.
The Pittsburg Police Department responded to the scene and began their investigation.
The juvenile was taken into custody by Crawford County Deputies in Arma later that evening.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and impending legal proceedings, no further details will be released at this time.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
