Missourinet - Big changes could be coming to Missouri taxes this year.

Thursday marked day two of the 2026 legislative session, with no session scheduled Friday and lawmakers returning Monday.

Senate Democrats say their top priority is keeping life affordable and avoiding new taxes. During a press conference,

Minority Leader Doug Beck told reporters that he hopes Governor Mike Kehoe’s State of the State address next week includes no tax hikes.

Meanwhile, Kehoe plans to propose gradually eliminating Missouri’s income tax, and Republicans say they’ll also push for property tax relief.
