(Missourinet) - Could a Missouri senator stop Chinese court rulings from reaching U.S. soil?
U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri has introduced the End Chinese Lawfare Act, a bill that would prevent judgments from Chinese courts from being enforced in the United States.
Schmitt filed the legislation after being named in a 50-billion-dollar lawsuit by Chinese entities earlier this month.
He says the lawsuit is retaliation for Missouri’s previous legal victory against China and argues the bill will protect Americans from foreign judgments tied to political or economic disputes.
