Webb City woman charged with stealing over $2,000 worth of items from Walmart

A woman from Webb City is under arrest for allegedly stealing over $2,000 in items from a local big box store.

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney filed a felony stealing charge against Chelsea Hobbs who allegedly stole $2,277.59 worth of goods from the Walmart at 1501 S. Range Line Road in Joplin.

According to the probable cause statement, the 35-year-old Hobbs  stole the items during 14 visits to the store from July 3 through August 25 by skipping scans on some of the items she took through the self-service checkouts by switching price tags.

The items she allegedly stole, according to court papers, included food, clothing and accessories.
