Former Democrat state house candidate charged with child sex crimes

A man from Pittsburg, who ran as a democratic state house candidate last year, faces four counts of sexual exploitation of a child charges.

42-year-old Jordan S. Metcalf was arrested Monday in connection to a 2023 investigation, in which another Pittsburg man was arrested for downloading child porn.

Court documents say Metcalf committed his crimes between January and May of 2023.

In November 2024, he lost to Republican Chuck Smith in the General election for Kansas House of Representatives District 3.

Metcalf was booked into the Crawford County Jail on a $250,000 bond but records show he was released soon after.
