Police investigate stabbing in Marshfield, Missouri
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Marshfield, Missouri police officers responded to a business for a report of a male that had been stabbed at a residence but was now in a vehicle awaiting medical attention.
The male sustained injuries from a knife in his neck, arm and hand by his roommate and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
It was determined that the suspect, identified as Coby Shultz, was at his residence, which was also the scene of the crime.
Shultz was taken into custody without incident at his residence. Through the investigation, it was determined that there was a physical disturbance involving Shultz, his male roommate and Shultz’s wife.
During the disturbance, Shultz displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck, arm and hand causing injury. It appears the relationship dynamics between all the parties involved played a role in the disturbance.
The weapon used was recovered from the scene. Shultz attempted to clean up the crime scene with cleaner and water before the police arrived.
Shultz, who has no prior criminal history, was transported to the Webster County Jail where he was booked for 1st degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
