Missouri House to consider special session bills including stadium funding

Missouri House of Representatives are scheduled to meet by Wednesday about a proposal for taxpayers to help fund stadiums for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.

The Missouri Senate passed Senate Bill 3 this week during a special session.

Missouri’s funding method means taxpayers could pay for up to 50 percent of a project.

This is a counter to a bill passed by the Kansas legislature that offers up to 70 percent of a project should either team relocate to Kansas.

In this special session for unfinished business, the House will also vote on two other measures including $25 million in emergency housing aid for weather disaster victims, $100 million for disaster relief, and $50 million in funding for the University of Missouri Research Reactor.
