College athletes can now be paid directly by their schools

College athletes can now be paid directly by their schools.

A federal judge has approved the House vs. NCAA settlement, clearing the way for Division I programs to share up to $20.5 million per year with athletes starting in 2025.

The NCAA will also pay nearly $2.8 billion in back damages to athletes dating back to 2016.

Mizzou’s Director of Athletics Laird Veach says the school is committing to the full annual revenue sharing and adding 60 new scholarships.

This marks a historic shift in college sports.
