Cherokee County Sheriff's Office joins FBI's Safe Streets Program

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is joining up with the FBI and their Safe Streets Task Force Program.

Under this partnership a deputy from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will be assigned as a Task Force Officer.

This deputy will still be assigned to investigate criminal activity within Cherokee County while working jointly with the other law enforcement agencies.

The Safe Streets Task Force program focuses on identifying and targeting criminals and groups that are responsible for serious felony offenses.

This program sets a priority on conducting investigations in a manner so that they can be presented for prosecution.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says this is an effort to aggressively enforcing, investigating, and presenting cases for prosecution.
