Grove resident charged with murder of child, child neglect

A Grove, Oklahoma resident faces federal charges after being indicted by a Federal Grand Jury in the Northern District of Oklahoma.

31-year-old Jordan Frazier Payne is charged with Second Degree Murder in Indian Country and Child Neglect in Indian Country.

Payne allegedly killed the minor victim by blunt force trauma to the head.

Prosecutors say he with willfully failing to provide medical care for the minor victim.

The FBI, the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, the Grove Police Department, and the Jay Police Department are the investigative agencies.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Valeria Luster and Emily Dewhurst are prosecuting the case.
