Schreiber Foods Carthage expansion project paused

Schreiber Foods has put its $211 million expansion project in Carthage on hold.

Company officials cite a uncertain economic conditions and their potential impact on the project.

They had originally planned to construct a new 168,000-square-foot production facility that was expected to create 150 new jobs.

While city officials were disappointed by the news, Carthage Economic Development Corporation CEO Jeff Meredith believes they are still well-positioned for future projects.
