City offices will be closed on Thursday, December 25, and Thursday, January 1, for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

This also includes Public Transit, the Recycling Center, and the Joplin History and Mineral Museum.

City Hall and other City services will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Friday, December 26, and Friday, January 2, and resume normal operating hours, except for the Museum.

The Museum will be open on Friday, December 26, but will be closed on Saturday, December 27. It resumes normal business hours through January 31 and will then be closed throughout the month of January for remodeling and exhibit updates.

Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments), Joplin Regional Airport, and the Wastewater Division will continue to operate throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays, as these departments operate 24/7 year-round.

Residential trash and curbside recycling service will shift back one day for customers on Thursday and Friday.  Customers who have service Monday through Wednesday will not be affected. Saturday will be used to pick up customers with the Friday service.

For questions about trash services, contact Republic Services at 1-800-431-1507.
