One in custody following serving of narcotics search warrant in Joplin

On April 3rd, the Joplin Police Department SWAT Team was activated to serve a narcotics search warrant at 518 S. Patterson Avenue in Joplin.
The search warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation by the Joplin Police Department Flex Platoon
regarding illegal drug activities at this location.
During the warrant service, multiple individuals were detained on scene and investigators began their search and interviews.
The search warrant at this location yielded several grams of Methamphetamine as well as stolen property, including a bank card that had been previously reported stolen to the Joplin Police Department.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Detectives arrested Leslie D. Williams, age 43 of Joplin, on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Stealing.
Those charges will be submitted to the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review and consideration.
Williams is currently in custody in the Joplin City Jail on those pending charges.
