Pittsburg High School senior identified as victim of fatal crash

A senior at Pittsburg High School has been identified as the victim of a fatal one-vehicle crash.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the teenager was going north on South Rouse, went off the road, and hit a tree.

The Pittsburg Fire Department says the vehicle caught fire. The blaze was extinguished and the victim was confirmed deceased at the scene.

17-year-old Nathan Brown was identified as the victim.

The Pittsburg School District says counseling will be available to students.
